Like an architectural sculpture, 30 meters long and 18 meters high in black-painted steel, the Stairway to the Sky extends out toward Hanöbukten, conveying a desire to move beyond boundaries and strive for new, bold perspectives. Gert Wingårdh, one of Sweden’s most renowned architects, has here created a staircase that does not lead to the next floor, but perhaps to the next thought.
