BEYOND CONCRETE - NATURE AS A BUILDING MATTER

This year’s temporary project at Kivik Art Centre explores industrial hemp as a material at the intersection of art, architecture and nature. Together with Petra Gipp, Clara Norell, André Pihl and Johanna Schartau, we investigate how one of nature’s oldest materials can inspire new ways of creating, building and thinking about a more sustainable future.

Art, architecture and nature, all together

Kivik Art Centre is a sculpture park and an art gallery at Österlen, Skåne in Sweden. With 3D art, architecture and landscape.
Since its founding in 2006, the ambition has been to create a place unlike any other — a place that grows over time and is never truly finished. Here, international artists and architects meet in dialogue with nature, with the site, and with one another. Kivik Art Centre is a place to walk through, to spend time in, and to return to.

Sculpture Park

The Sculpture Park unfolds across the landscape surrounding Svabesholm. Here, the artworks meet nature directly, placed in the soil, along the slopes, and among the cows. Walk at your own pace, pause, and return. The park is open year-round.

Art Gallery

Since 2025, Kivik Art Centre also includes an Art Gallery with temporary exhibitions. Here, contemporary art is presented in a variety of forms, from video installations and painting to design and sculpture. Move through the room at your own pace and let your gaze linger. The Art Gallery is open during regular opening hours.

Events

Sometimes in the Sculpture Park or the Art Gallery. We invite you to talks, seminars, and workshops with artists and guests. Kivik Art Centre for kids

Bygga Konst / Land Arc Kids is a unique initiative that gives children and young people knowledge of, and an understanding of, art, architecture, nature, and the built environment, all shaped by sustainability and participation.
Together, we explore how form and structure interact with nature. Using the current works as a starting point, our experienced educators combine practical and theoretical activities — engaging both hands and minds.
